Day 1, I don't look so good :(

DAY 70 - 11 pounds and 2+ months of TLC and I am such a looker!

MORE ABOUT DUSTY:

Hi! My name is Dusty, and I am a 6-year-old Weim who makes the perfect wing-man! I grew up with a family who trained me very well, and then later lived with a family who kept me outside. I hated living outside by myself but I love being indoors with my foster family. I am living with three other males who are all older than me and we all get along great together. They don’t really like to play so I don’t bother them with it. Don’t let my age fool you, I am every bit as fit, healthy and active as any young Weim out there, with the added benefit of my life experience and training. I love to play with other dogs and do really well with small dogs and even cats! I get to go to daycare once a week to play and boy do I love it! My favorite game is chase because I love to run and run and run. I don’t have much use for my nose and think it is funny when my foster brothers are sniffing all over the place because I try to figure out what the big deal is, I would just rather stretch my legs with a good sprint. I do fantastic when left alone and never get into anything. I whine a couple of times at first but when I know you are gone for good I get on the couch and peacefully sleep away the day. My foster parents know this because they have video-taped me. They think I could live well as an only dog if my people are around a lot and include me in most of their activities or in a house with other dogs if they work more. I should go ahead and tell you now that I am a couch potato! I will also sleep in the bed if you let me, but I don’t get to here so I choose to sleep on the couch downstairs with one of my foster brothers. I am house-trained and love using the dog door at my foster home. I have never made a mistake in the house since I've been here. I also love going for walks, and I really enjoy when my foster dad takes me for runs and when we go hiking. I'm still learning to have control on a leash but I am getting the hang of the gentle leader very quickly. I do well in a car too and am always ready to go for a ride, even if it is just to go to the bank. I know how to sit, stay, come, lie down, and even shake hands! I get the funniest looks on my face when you talk to me. My foster parents think I know exactly what they are saying because I am about as smart as they come. You can teach me to do just about anything. I do well playing with kids too, but sometimes little kids can get scared because I am very playful and boisterous, especially when I get running, so it may be better if I live with kids who are a little older. I am up to date on vaccinations, neutered, on heart worm preventative, and micro chipped. I am being fostered in Louisville, KY and would love to meet you!
